One of the best romance novels I've read in months, and I read a lot of romances. This was...this book was exciting. It was sexy. Told strictly from the heroine's POV, I was really able to sink in and enjoy the story - enjoy the ride. As a reader, I admired Brooke and understood all her decisions. She was likeable and didn't make me want to toss my Kindle at the wall.

The tension, both emotional and physical, was out of this world. Chase makes it clear from the start he wants in her panties, but she's a smart and ambitious girl who is set on working with him. No matter how much she likes the way he rides, she knows being with him means settling for sex and nothing else.

The push-pull between them is absolutely delicious. The setting is spectacular and memorable. Focusing on an extreme sport makes the scenes dynamic and so exciting. Everytime they took to the snow, they took my heart with them. The secondary characters were brilliant and not just plot fodder. The story kept me turning pages until there were no more left. And then I had a meltdown because I couldn't find anything else written by this author. Dear goodness, I hope she publishes something else soon. There aren't enough books that hold my attention like this one did.

Ride edition by Harper Dallas Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I’m a sucker for angsty reads and when this book was recommended to me by Roxie who seeks these types of books out just like me, I had to bump it up to be my next read.

Being an Aussie girl from Sydney I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve seen snow, so reading a book about snowboarding was a new experience for me. I didn’t understand some of the terminology but that in no way detracted from the story.

All chapters except the epilogue were told from Brooke’s POV and it worked brilliantly in building that angst. Chase was a gorgeous and broody hero. Not knowing what happened to him to make him so serious and champion of the ‘not serious ‘ motto kept it interesting.

I loved their chemistry together and I loved Chase’s fellow snowboarders, Hanne and JJ who welcomed Brooke and made her part of the team but at all times remained loyal to Chase.

I great book by a debut author.
*flail* I can't say I've given up on Romance as a genre, but I start way more books than I ever stick around for. This one though? This one hooked me and yanked me down mountain and wouldn't let go till I was sniffling over my and looking for more books by the author. Only one!? Can't wait for more! Not only is the change in sport from the typical football/hockey/baseball/MMA a very nice surprise, but the characters and the way they were handled and just...everything about this book is awesome. Love it. Love it. Love it!
Ride doesn’t read or feel like a debut. It feels like an experienced writer who knows what she’s doing. Harper Dallas has created a fabulous snowboarding universe with Ride and the The False Kings riders. I was completely immersed in these characters and their passion for what they love. They face their fears every time they step onto a mountain and ride on the snow.

Brooke loves boarding too but her job is as a photographer. When she gets the opportunity to work with the False Kings her dreams are coming true. Chase, her hero when she was a kid, proves to be a challenge. Their connection is immediately and incredible but they both have their “emotional kevlar” on thanks to their past and painful experiences.
They struggle with their feelings and letting people in. The only time they do is when they’re boarding together. There they’re their true selves. Just being. Seizing the moment. No words just them.

The remaining crew of the False Kings JJ, Hanne and Hunter are great too. I’m invested in all of them. The friendship between them shines and it clear they’re more than friends. They’re family.
Brooke’s family, her mother, grandpa and best friend Alex are her everything. Her home.

Ride is a thrilling and wonderful sports romance. A fabulous debut and first book in a series. I’m so excited to read JJ. Ride leads up to his story
in the most teasing and delicious way.

4 Just Us Stars
Flawless book. One gets so sick of these almost cookie cutter seeming romance novels but this one was so fresh and well written that it was a wonderful excursion away from the regular. Chase Austin - what to say about this man? Absolutely wonderful and dreamy from his glamor, sheer masculinity, moodiness, emotional isolation and oft misinterpreted signals. A lovely flawed strong human creature. Can't believe this is the author's first novel. I only hope she can continue to write such fresh breaths of air. Take a trip with Brooke and Chase from Switzerland to B.C to Miami, Mammoth and Jackson Hole. A strong recommend!
Chase can ride the slopes like no one else but off the slopes he doesn't always get what he wants. Well at least not right away ;-) Brooke needs some serious convincing that he's worth the risk he may pose to herself and her career. When they do get together it's quite explosive, both between the sheets and out. But somehow they are going to have to learn to talk to each other.

My overall gut reaction to this book is READ IT… possibly more than once. I got this as an ARC thru another author's newsletter. That said I will buy it, to show support for what I feel is an amazing story by a debut author. In fact it's hard to believe this is her first published work, the story is complex , but not overly long I finished it in a day. Most importantly, you can identify with all the characters not just the main characters and the story doesn't feel rushed.

It's told from only Brooke's prospective, which when I started reading it I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. I'm soo used to getting both main character's prospective. At about 20%, I started to thinking that this wasn't a bad thing. It's probably the thing that makes this book. What I think I forgot is that we go through this world experiencing things based on our previous experiences. So Brooke's reactions to Chase feel honest and real. We get to watch Brooke grow emotionally and thru her see Chase's fight to get past his demons.
