As I always read Nicole’s feed I was so surprised to read a book recommendation? I immediately looked it up on Amazon and was so anxious to begin reading “Life on the Leash” not only due to her positive tweet but also due to my love for my four legged children. This novel offers a respite for this crazy period of time before the election as well as some wonderful training hints. It will be absolutely be a perfect gift for many of my girlfriends this holiday season. Kudos to Victoria Shade for a sensitive story intertwining our challenging but loving human and dog relationships. Thanks Nicole for taking the time to tweet about it.

The story line was good, but I didn't appreciate the language.
I loved Life on the Leash. It’s such a cute and fun romance with a tiny dose of dog training in it. I’m surprised other reviewers felt the love triangle was out of character for Cora when even the character Cora admits it’s out of character. Clearly that was intended. I really enjoyed this read and hope to see more from Ms. Schade!
Life on the Leash was a light-hearted, enjoyable read. The main character, Cora Bellamy, is a dog trainer who works to help people and dogs live in harmony. Because life is complicated, that’s not always as easy as it sounds, and Cora’s experiences are no exception.

As a dog trainer myself, I was happy to see that Cora advocates for modern, humane, positive-reinforcement methods over the old-school coercive techniques. I’m looking forward to Victoria Schade’s next novel.
Life on the Leash had all the qualities I look for in a book. A great storyline, and characters, animals and a superb romance. I really loved Cora, she gave such good advice on what to do and not do when it comes to training and dealing with dogs. I'm very happy to have read this book as I enjoyed it so much! 5 Stars!!
I loved Life on the Leash! This book was the perfect escape for me...something I looked forward to returning to each night after the kids were in bed.

The characters are well-developed and likable and I loved the dog-knowledge dropped throughout the book. The canine characters were also loveable and I love how the author was even able to make their personalities come alive!

My two favorite things about this book are it’s relatability and how funny it is. There were many moments where I found myself nodding along at Cora’s thoughts and feelings because I totally got it! The book also made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions, which i don’t usually do.

I would highly recommend this book. Such a pleasurable read and none of the doom and gloom that seems so prevalent in novels these days!
What a fun book! I read it in two marathon sessions because I couldn't put it down. The characters are fresh and interesting, and the descriptions of inner turmoil were strikingly direct and effective. I re-read many of them for sheer enjoyment, thinking "that's EXACTLY how I've felt". I was also intrigued by the compassionate dog training philosophy, it inspired me to reflect on my own doggie relationships. Highly recommend this beautiful book. I'm lending it to my mother-in-law tomorrow, she's going to love it.
Full disclosure I've known the author for 15-some years, and I had the privilege of watching her in action when she worked with my late, great Golden Retriever. Anyway, this book is just the ticket if you're looking for a cheerful, romantic antidote to real-life news of the world. It's got a lovely, relatable heroine; two very attractive (albeit very different) men; colorful supporting players; and dogs whose personalities are written as vividly as the humans'. But underneath the bubbly plot is a serious message about the importance of positive reinforcement, fear-free dog training. Read this book and enjoy it. Your canine companions will thank you!
