Brady appears to live a charmed life. A national league starting baseball pitcher, girls in every city, plenty of money, special treatment every where he goes. What no one knows is the trauma he endured in his past life, the loss he barely survived on what should have been the best day of his life. What made him the apparent man whore of baseball. Then he's seriously injured and his baseball career is in jeopardy. Enter Rylee, the optimistic physical therapist whose sole purpose is to heal him and get him to pitch again. Brady is not accustomed to Ry's determination and apparent disinterest in getting him into bed. And so begins his learning and healing, experience. This is a sincere, touching and tear inducing story of struggle, heartbreak and redemption. I love the way details are doled out throughout the book, not all thrown at you at the start. Beautiful epilogue that brings everything full cycle.

Benching Brady The Perfect Game Series edition by Samantha Christy Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I adored Rylee and Brady’s story! After Brady gets injured-a potentially career ending injury-he gets sent to Florida to be rehabbed at his teams facility. His physical therapist? Rylee. I knew Brady had a tragic past...and as we learn more and more about what happened my heart broke apart. I was pulling for Rylee, hoping she could be the one that would bring Brady back to life...but her secret could be the one thing that keeps them apart. An amazing addition to this series!
I wish I could give this book more then 5 stars because it truly deserves about 20!!! I loved Catching Caden so much, and couldn't wait for Brady's story. OMG, I can honestly say that this is my new favorite book!!! I have never been this invested in a story before. The emotional rollercoaster was amazing from the first chapter to the last! Brady was such a complex man who tried to hide it from the world. Of course his closest friends, Caden and Murphy, knew what kind of man he really was, but the world only saw what he wanted them to see. Until Rylee walked into his life. She has to be my favorite heroine, next to Murphy of course. She's strong, spirited, and vulnerable all at the same time. She has her own things she keeps to herself and thinks she knows what kind of man Brady is, but she gives him a chance anyway. The 2 of them together was amazing! They're chemistry just jumped off the pages!! I don't want to give anything away about their journey, other then it's a journey that you'll fall in love with and find yourself rooting for them the whole time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!! You will not be disappointed. I'm only sorry that it's over, I didn't want it to end. Can't wait for Sawyer's story!!
Once again Ms. Christy hits it out of the park! I have loved every single story - the Mitchell sisters, the Stone brothers, and Caden. Now, Brady's story joins the list of my favorites. And, bonus, it is very well edited!

We met Brady in Caden's story. It was apparent that he had something hidden deep. It just wasn't apparent what exactly he was masking with his playboy ways. When Brady is seriously injured at the end of a near perfect game, he heads to Tampa for rehab at the team complex. There, he forms a friendship with his physical therapist - Rylee. They agree to keep personal information to a minimum, and just enjoy the sights of Tampa on a platonic, friendly basis. This being a wonderful love story - the platonic bit doesn't last very long. Eventually, they begin a 'no-strings' relationship, but even then, they fail to guard their hearts. Toward the end of Brady's stay in Tampa, a significant personal truth for Rylee comes to light, and Brady is really thrown. It looks like the end. Rylee moves to New York, and it is several months before she sees Brady again. She thinks he hasn't reached out in the intervening months. He thinks she made moves to cut off communication. Neither are correct. Will they try again? Will Brady learn to accept Rylee's truths? Will Brady ever let Rylee in and explain his past behaviors? Will Brady ever heal and pitch again? Will Rylee trust Brady to leave his girl-in-every-city ways behind?

As always, it is really fun to see the great characters from past books make appearances - having both major and minor influences in the story. The epilogue was just icing on the cake. I cannot recommend both this book and the entire series (beginning with Purple Orchids) enough. Definitely looking forward to Sawyer's story. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!
I very much enjoy Samantha Christy's relaxed, patient rendition of a tragic romance, of young, innocent, pure love between a young and amazingly talented pitcher/ballplayer and his young, beautiful, wife that overnight became Brady's most horrifying nightmare. This book's every word, phrase, and detail seemed significant and necessary to its ultimate conclusion, and aside from a few annoying instances of improper pronoun usage (I versus me), none of it bored me. I admit to page flipping while reading Caden and Murphy's story (I had some trouble putting up with the more sleazy behaviors of Murphy's old roommates) so I ended up skimming close to sixty pages of text.
However, Brady came across as very caring and proved he had emotional depth as well as athletic ability, charm and exceptional DNA when he makes up his mind to earn Rylee's attention, love, and heart ❤. Their interaction and mutual attraction are explosive to the point of being incendiary, and Brady surprises everyone when he follows through by "quitting" and dumping ALL of the women he kept on hand in cities he used to visit to play baseball. I laughed, cried, chuckled, sniffled, and sobbed reading about Brady addressing his anguish, grief, and overwhelming guilt over the loss of his wife and very young son. Beautifully written, the understanding and compassion of Rylee was just as breathtaking and the final push that Brady needed to make lifestyle changes that brought him even closer to Rylee. A lovely story.
